Long queue for commemorative banknotes depicting King | Bangkok Post: news

(Photo by Pornprom Satrabhaya)People began queueing in the early hours of Tuesday morning to buy 100-baht commemorative banknotes marking the seventh cycle birthday anniversary on Dec 5, 2011 of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. As early as 2am, people started arriving outside the head office of the Government Savings Bank (GSB) on Phahon Yothin Road in Bang Sue area. About 90,000 of the 100-baht commemorative banknotes are available, all of them would be distributed at the bank’s headquarters, GHB president Chatchai Payuhanaveechai said.
